FlightPath3D Attributes Success of In-Flight Map Platform to Adaptability and Rapid Response Time

FlightPath3D’s map has now been accessed by more than one hundred million devices across more than 2,600 commercial aircraft from 60 different airlines around the world. The company attributes the success of its in-flight map product to its ability to adapt to different software platforms and airline needs. “We achieved this by making it available as an Android, iOS or Linux app, a web service API or as a widget to embed in other applications,” said FlightPath3D president Duncan Jackson. The product can also be reproduced for any language and airline brand experience.

The inflight map can be integrated with wireless or seatback in-flight entertainment systems, delivering a level of flexibility appreciated by customers, such as Air France. “FlightPath3D has the most valuable and innovative moving map solution,” said David Hoch, in-flight entertainment project manager at the airline. “Furthermore, they are very flexible and easy to work with; very responsive and always willing to help increase customer satisfaction and improve their experience.” Other airline customers include Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, Air Canada, Southwest, Virgin Atlantic, LATAM and others.

Boris Veksler, CEO of FlightPath3D, says the company’s customer-focused culture has also contributed to its success. “When we receive a request to change something, we react and deploy faster than most in the industry spend analyzing the problem,” he said.

When it comes to future outlook, Veksler says things are looking “very strong” based on product breadth, multi-OEM integration, IP and patents. “We’re on track to reach our goal of enabling a billion passengers to explore places with our map each year,” he added.
