WATCH: How FlightPath3D & Delta Air Lines are Redefining Inclusivity in the Skies

This year at APEX Global EXPO, we proudly announced the official launch of our Accessibility Map on Delta Air Lines, marking a significant milestone in accessible inflight technology. This partnership showcases our shared commitment to innovation, accessibility, and providing a truly inclusive experience for all travelers.

Our President, Duncan Jackson sat down with Ekrem Dimbiloglu, Delta’s Managing Director of In-Flight Entertainment and WiFi, to discuss how this accessible map—now on 171 Delta aircraft and soon expanding to 600—came to life and why it matters.

You can watch the entire 20 minute conversation below, but here are a few of the high-level takeaways from their time on stage:

FlightPath3D and Delta Air Lines Share a Commitment to Accessibility

Delta strives to ensure every passenger has an engaging and accessible experience, with a focus on inclusivity in all aspects of travel. The new map makes flight information accessible to passengers with visual, motor, and cognitive impairments.

High Passenger Engagement Indicated Priority

Approximately 50% of Delta’s passengers use the map during their journey, and 20% interact exclusively with it, making accessibility a priority for this widely-used feature.

Collaboration is Key for Development

Delta’s Disability Advisory Board provided essential feedback, highlighting areas like font size, contrast, and ease of navigation, which guided multiple iterations of the map.

Deployment Bested Standard Timelines

Delta and FlightPath3D worked closely to refine and deploy the map in just six months—a timeline almost unheard of in inflight technology.
